Words From the Founders

There are moments in a person’s life that forever change them and perhaps change their purpose on earth. For my family, it was November 1, 1999 ~ that was the day my mother was diagnosed with the deadly anaplastic astrocytoma, grade 3 brain tumor. It was then on May 28, 2002 that the deadly tumor took her life. What first began as a journey to save my mother, turned into a dedicated mission to save the lives of many who will one day be afflicted by this deadly disease. The Gwen L. Kosinski Foundation in collaboration with our MINDS OVER MATTER running club has made a commitment towards finding a cure for brain tumors and raising awareness for the importance of brain tumor research fundraising.

Over the past several years we have witnessed extraordinary progress in our journey for brain tumor care, but we still have a long way to go. Through various fundraising efforts such as our former Minds Over Matter 5K Run and the GLK Memorial Golf Tournament each year, it is our hope that we will continue to raise much needed funds to support ongoing research studies. Our ultimate vision is that one day a diagnosis of a brain tumor does not automatically translate into a terminal illness. This is our purpose and as we say at GLK, we are only a few short miles from a cure so lets keep running. We hope you join us in this very important race to the finish!

Warmest Regards,

The Kosinski Family
